Taken from Edward Arciniega’s Obituary:
Throughout his 37 years at Churchill County High School, "Señor", as he came to be known, taught Spanish, coached football, basketball, and baseball, served as Athletic Director and became a friend and mentor to hundreds. Ed accumulated numerous accolades throughout his career including induction into the NIAA Hall of Fame in 1994, having the CCHS athletic complex named in his honor in 1996 and Hispanic Educator of the Year in 1985. But without a doubt, Ed often cited his coaching the 1957 Boys State Basketball Champions from Fallon, which defeated Reno, Las Vegas and Hawthorne for the title as the memory which most stood out.
