The Community Foundation of Western Nevada makes smart investments with our invested charitable assets, but we also strive to be a smart investment for those who want to get the most impact for their charitable dollars. The Community Foundation roots philanthropic capital deeply into our community. We measure the metrics of the Community Foundation.  Per our 2016 tax return, only 2.6% of our expenses were for fundraising, and only 6.3% of our expenses were for administrative expenses. The Community Foundation’s low fees mean that the earnings on charitable investments, which averaged 6.6% net return over the last five years, is granted out, not eaten up in costs. Fundholders give in every area possible. The Community Foundation focuses our work through initiatives in these areas: Youth Homelessness, Family Caregivers, Preventing Financial Scams, and Housing for working poor.
