Preventing Financial Scams Convening
We are calling all individuals who care to join us in discussing ideas about the issues of Financial Scams. There are many kinds of financial scams. Strange calls asking for your Social Security Number. A romantic partner controlling your finances. Caregivers exploiting the elderly. Predatory loans. Someone claiming you have been scammed and they need to verify your bank account number. We will also discuss and share ideas on how we can help prevent elderly exploitation from becoming a prevalent target for predators and scammers.
This free gathering is going to be held at the Nevada Discovery Museum on Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2019 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Community Presentations
The Community Foundation's Nick Tscheekar and Luiza Benisano went to the Task Force on Alzheimer's Disease, the Association of Homecare Owners of Northern Nevada, and the Washoe County Senior Services to discuss the Caregiver Support Initiative. They also distributed copies of the guidebooks.
Our upcoming presentation is going to be held on September 23 at the Veterans Guest House We are open to presenting and discussing to all groups/organization that will benefit from learning more about Caregiver Support Initiative.
