Fall 2022 guide to support for disaster relief efforts around the world:
Hurricane/Tropical Storm Ian
Relief Efforts in Florida, Puerto Rico, Cuba, and the Dominican Republic
- The Florida Disaster Fund at Volunteer Florida Foundation supports service organizations that will serve individuals within their communities with disaster response and recovery.
- Convoy of Hope Crisis Relief Fund- as had-hit communities become accessible, team members will set up distribution points to begin assisting survivors.
- Project Hope delivers urgent supplies to people in need, including medicines, diapers, hygiene supplies, clean water and food, and will support clinics serving the most vulnerable. They also continue to support people in Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic in the aftermath of Hurricane Fiona.
- Direct Relief has prepositioned a dozen Hurricane Prep Packs with Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) in Florida and is responding to additional requests for emergency medicines, backup power systems and more.
- The Red Cross has deployed 500 trained disaster workers who are on the ground in Florida to support sheltering and relief efforts as Ian makes landfall.
- N. NV Nonprofits send relief efforts to Florida- Both the Salvation Army in Reno and the Red Cross of Northern Nevada are accepting donations for those impacted by the devastating hurricane.
Pakistan Floods
Following the record monsoon rains, more than 100,000 people have been displaced, and key supply routes are at risk of being inundated. The disaster is rapidly evolving, and officials expect additional casualties and damages.
- Donate to Center for Disaster Philanthropy's Global Recovery Fund
- UNICEF is delivering urgently needed supplies and services, including safe drinking water, medical supplies and vaccines, therapeutic food supplies and hygiene kits for children and families. UNICEF is also establishing temporary learning centers and looking after the protection and psychosocial well-being of children.
- International Medical Corps is responding by providing medical services and supplies, as well as mental health and WASH services, to women, children and men affected by the flooding.

Hurricane Fiona- Puerto Rico
- Donate to Center for Disaster Philanthropy's Atlantic Hurricane Season Recovery Fund
- Donate to PRxPR Relief and Rebuild Fund, in partnership with the Conservation Trust of Puerto Rico
- Aid focuses on providing food, clean water, and renewable energy to some of the most devastated communities in Puerto Rico
- The Puerto Rico Community Foundation has reactivated the Community Recovery Fund for Puerto Rico to help recovery efforts following Hurricane Fiona
- Foundation for Puerto Rico plans to prioritize relief in the wake Hurricane Fiona, calling for donations and volunteers to achieve recovery
- Red Cross is responding to storms Puerto Rico, US Virgin Islands, and Alaska
- The Red Cross shelters, feeds and provides comfort to victims of disasters; supplies about 40% of the nation's blood; teaches skills that save lives; distributes international humanitarian aid; and supports veterans, military members and their families.
California Wildfires
- The California Community Foundation's Wildfire Recovery Fund supports intermediate and long-term recovery efforts for major California wildfires, as well as preparedness efforts.
- GlobalGiving's California Wildfire Relief Fund, will provide emergency funding to locally driven relief efforts, providing food, medicine, and other essential supplies to help people impacted by the fires.
- Donate to California Fire Relief- Direct Relief provides N-95 masks, medicine, and other resources to healthcare agencies and first responders in wildfire-affected communities across California
- The California Fire Foundation provides critical support to victims, firefighters, and communities affected by wildfire and disaster throughout California.
