Community Endowment First Year's Grant given to Eddy House
The Community Foundation Board and Staff recommended that the 1st annual grants generated by the Community Endowment go to the Eddy House and Sierra Association of Foster Families to support the ongoing Youth Network Initiative.
The Community Endowment will grow as community members continue to contribute through their estates, charitable funds, and daily charitable gifts. The fund principal is invested and its earnings are put to work; strengthening our community as annual grants.
The annual grant distribution process is simple but will help make sure that the grants are given to organizations that reflect the Community Foundation priorities and address the region's needs. Grant opportunities are recommended by staff and then vetted by the Community Foundation Board Stewardship committee. The Stewardship committee makes the final recommendation which is approved by the entire Board.
Everyone can contribute to the Community Endowment. No gift is too small and the Community Foundation can facilitate gifts of appreciated real estate or planned gifts such as charitable gift annuities that will generate a stream of income for the donor or their beneficiary.
The Community Endowment is a charitable treasure resource for our region that will grow and be used for good, forever.
