Through Atlantis' Corporate Charitable Giving Program, we contribute to organizations that build stronger communities. Our philanthropy is centered on the following focus areas: veterans, public education, health, and wellness, hunger relief and shelter, the cultural arts and children's health. Highlights of our 2017/2018 giving agenda included: Boys & Girls Club of the Truckee Meadows, Veterans Guest House, Ronald McDonald House Charities of Northern Nevada, Nevada Diabetes Association, Nevada Museum of Art, Washoe County Alliance for Education, Eddy House, Volunteers of America, Renown Hospital, American Red Cross, Food Bank of Northern Nevada and Honor Flight Nevada. In the spirit of volunteerism, Atlantis' efforts to positively impact the community where we live, work and raise our families resulted in the creation of a Volunteer Committee. The team members volunteer their time to make a positive impact on the greater good. Recent on-site volunteering efforts included the Food Bank of Northern Nevada Mobile Harvest, Harvest, and Ronald McDonald House Charities Chef Program. Atlantis donated $25,000 to Honor Flight Nevada, an organization that flies veterans to Washington D.C. to see memorials erected in their honor. Atlantis' flight was in November over Veteran's Day weekend and a group of Atlantis Team Members welcomed the veterans back at a homecoming ceremony at the Reno-Tahoe International Airport. In addition, the Atlantis participates in many special events to raise funds, food, clothing, toys and blood for a variety of causes. Among those events were three blood drives including the All Reno Radio Blood Drive, the Give 2 Live Blood Drive and Heroes Remembered Blood Drives that totaled 796 units of blood donated to United Blood Services. A Toast & Taste of Summer raised over $25,000 for the Reno Initiative for Shelter & Equality, Winter Wonderland raised over $20,000 for Nevada Diabetes Association and during Stuff-A-Bus, we collected 1,037 lbs. of food, 1,724 lbs. of clothing, 184 toys, and $1,368 in monetary donations for The Salvation Army. In conjunction with KTVN Channel 2 News and Reno Media Group, we raised $37,804 for the American Red Cross and Hurricane Harvey victims. That number includes a $10,000 donation by Monarch Casino & Resort, Inc., parent company of the Atlantis Casino Resort Spa. In addition, we raised $12,089 for those affected by the fires in northern California.
