Brian Loy joined the Community Foundation of Northern Nevada as a member of the Advisory Board and Investment Committee in 2021.

As an advisor and business owner himself, Brian has helped small- to medium-sized business owners address their unique financial planning concerns for the past four decades. He has dedicated his career to providing his clients – including business owners, health professionals, executives, and retirees – with the specialized financial services they need and deserve.

Brian earned his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration/Finance from University of California, Berkeley in 1980, and he holds both the Certified Financial Planner^™ and Chartered Financial Analyst^® designations.

Passionate about giving back to the local communities that have given so much to him and his family, Brian is heavily involved with civic and professional organizations. He has served as president of the Estate Planning Council of Northern Nevada and Planned Giving Roundtable of Northern Nevada, and as a member of the University of Nevada Planned Giving Advisory Council. He is also an active member of the Investment Committee for the Community Foundation of Northern Nevada and of his local Rotary, for which he served as a past president and currently chairs the stewardship committee for the Club’s 501(c)3 Foundation. Brian is also a past board member of Renown Health and Hometown Health, and he is currently a member of their finance and investment committees.

Brian has been married to his wife Georgia for over 40 years and they are blessed with a lovely daughter. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time outdoors fishing, camping, skiing, abalone diving, and driving a tractor, in addition to traveling.
